The museum offers educational methods, not only for school groups but also the general public. Although the experiments and montages shown are recreational, fun and spectacular, they do put across real scientific and technical information beyond the stage of simple popularisation.
The EDF Electropolis Museum invites people who care about their environment to learn about today's energy issues, by tracing their history through an exhibition and a conference.

Exhibition

  • Solar energy revolutions: history of types of energy and the production of electricity
  • A model at the museum entrance shows all the types of energy found in France, including renewable energies.

For further information on…
All the fields of electricity and different types of energy used in France (biomass, thermal, aeolian, etc.)

The Energievie programme

"Alsace says yes to renewable energies"

This programme encourages the use of renewable energies. With assistance, many tourist accommodation structures have been equipped particularly with solar panels and wood-fired boilers to reduce their energy consumption.

Staying in this type of accommodation is also a way of encouraging the use of renewable energies and limiting consumption.
