Relax to the sweet melodies of Christmas as you stroll through Thann, Husseren-Wesserling, Guebwiller or Mulhouse.

You will be delighted to join in the Christmas songs which set the heady atmosphere of this special time.

Mulhouse, an industrial and cultural town, retains its title of textile industry which made its fortune in former times. Its "musée de l'impression des étoffes" (printed textiles museum) traces its development and reveals its wonders to you.

Land of songs and textiles

• Mulhouse

  A privileged place in which to experience the magic of Christmas and see the festive illuminations and decorations unique in Alsace. Every year, a new Christmas fabric is created and draped on façades… A big Christmas market in Place de la Réunion, a market at the printed textiles museum, a children's Christmas market (from 25.11 to 31.12), but Mulhouse's speciality is also the "sing-along" sessions held every Saturday at 16:00 at the St Etienne temple, where everyone joins to sing Christmas together as well as the Advent calendar sessions, every day at 18:00 from 1 December.

• Thann

  At the foot of the collegiate church, superb testimony to Gothic flamboyance in Alsace, the Christmas market sets up its stalls; under the big Christmas tree, people meet and sing…; in the area in front of the church is a play of the "snow queen", a tale by Hans Andersen; close by at the "Musée des Amis de Thann" (Friends of Thann museum), the robots are waiting for children to visit (from 25.11 to 05.01)

• Altkirch

  A charming town in the Sundgau, which installs characters from tales and legends of the "enchanted forest" in its streets (from 01.12 to 06.01) and puts on many events for visitors: the "Grotte aux lucioles" (firefly grotto) (unique in Alsace), the skating rink…

Christmas villages

• Uffholtz

  Every evening of Advent at 18:45 (from 1 to 24.12), another window opens and a Christmas mystery is told…

• Ferrette

  On New Year's Eve, departure at 22:30 for a stroll… a glass of sparkling wine free of charge at midnight for every brave soul who takes part (31.12)

• Husseren-Wesserling

  Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 30 November to 30 December and Thursday 27 December: it's Christmas in the Garden! The historic site of the Wesserling Park is illuminated with 1000 lights, and a different, authentic, surprising and enjoyable "Christmas evening" is in store for the public.

• Masevaux

  A nativity scene circuit is proposed in the town centre (01.12 to 31.12)

• Soultz

  From 1st to 31st December, Soultz proposes a circuit to see the windows decorated and illuminated by the inhabitants. The route can also be followed in a pony-cart on 5, 12 and 19 December.

• Saint Louis

  Close to Switzerland and Germany, in a very modern décor, the town has an eclectic Christmas market (from 6.12 to 24.12) installed around an ice-rink (open until 06.01)
