ADT - Tourisme en Alsace

Few regions can claim such a diversity of landscapes. With its scarped relief, the Munster Valley is certainly the most alpine of the Vosges valleys. You will leave from Metzeral heading for Kruth in the Thur Valley after several hours of hiking. Along the way you will see some superb panoramas and have the chance to taste the market-garden specialities served in the farm-inns which can be found along the route.

Programme :

Day 1 :

• Arrival in TGV(high speed train) at Colmar station, then TER (regional service) Colmar – Metzeral (40 minutes)
• Dinner and night at the Hôtel du Pont at Metzeral (2 stars)  

Day 2 :

• Breakfast at the hotel
• In the morning, climb to Platzerwasel pass via the Schnepfenried then cross by the Lauchenkopf then the Hahnenbrunen pass.
• Lunch can be taken at the Hahnenbrunnen farm-inn.
• Descent into Kruth via the "Sentier des Américains" (Americans' trail) along the banks of the Glaserrunz torrent.
• Arrival at Kruth in the afternoon. Dinner and night at the Auberge de France (2 stars)  

Day 3 :

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free hike
• Return to Mulhouse TGV station by the TER Kruth – Mulhouse (55 minutes)

• Duration of the hike: 5h30
• Distance: 18 km
• Difference in altitude: 787 m
