This winter, the Unterlinden Museum presents an exhibition devoted to the most surprising and imaginative of all the image projection machines developed before the advent of moving pictures: the magic lantern.

Today India returns to the first place of the important world suppliers in textile industry, and it is a justified return, because the Europeans had discovered the mysterious Indian textiles in the 17th century in India when they were looking for spices.After the way was opened by the Portuguese, the big English, Dutch and Danish East India Companies dashed into this intercontinental business, followed by the French people.
